This week we will continue to learn about matter in the Science Lab. In Math we will begin to focus on 2D shapes. The Family Fun Carnival will be held on Friday, September 14th and Foundation catalog sales will begin on September 17th. September is a busy month.

Calling all Addison Families! Please bring your shovels and green thumbs for our fall Garden Clean-Up Day on September 8th from 8am to 12pm. Please come by and pitch in to help us maintain Addison’s beautiful gardens. PTA/Foundation meeting on Thursday 9-6-18 at 6:00 pm. The Fifth Grade will perform.

Friday, August 31st will be Career Dress Up Day for Kindergarten. You do not need to buy a costume unless you make that choice. Please help you child think of a career that interest them and find an accessory or two to explain the job they selected. Friday, August 31st is also Grandparents Breakfast Day. Again we look forward to having many family members visit Addison.

Please check in your purple folders on Monday, as you should find the Reading Eggs and Raz Kids passwords needed to complete Tuesday's technology homework. On Monday, we will have a Guidance lesson with Mrs. Waite. Friday morning will be our first FBI (Fathers Being Involved) breakfast. We look forward to seeing lots of Dads and family members visiting that day.

Thank you everyone who attended Open House. I hope you gained some useful information. Monday, August 13th will be a very exciting day for our class. Firefighters are visiting our students to teach about fire safety, and we will also visit the Science Lab for the first time. Remember to look for those Homework Notebooks on Monday night as Kindergarten homework begins. Let's have a wonderful week.

We have had a great beginning of Kindergarten these last three days. We are getting to know each other and learn about Addison's rules and routines. We actually got outside in the sunshine for a few minutes today. It was wonderful. In the purple folder today you will find Mrs. Hallmark's Calendar of events for August. Please plan to attend Open House for Kindergarten on Thursday August 9th from 5-6 p.m. I look forward to seeing you then.
